Threatfire 4.7.0.9. Google Toolbar:

I think at the end we will end up scraping this list and making a new, shorter list, of who DOESN'T try to install prechecked things on your PC. Because not trying to bundle something else with your software is becoming the exception.

:(

Am looking forward to see anti-malware vendor to detect any installer that is bundled with ****. The reason these vendors dare to add anything (add-on) is because there is few anti-malware scanners that does the job in detecting adware or PUPs.

And also looking forward to see SpywareGuard et al program to alert on such installers.

BitDefender and Auslogics (both offer Ask Toolbar in some of their products) is now bundling? each other's software. Too focused on bundling!

I was thinking the same thing Fuzzfas :( When this topic started I don't think anyone thought it would get this bad. I think vendors are recognising the fact that many people don't have money and therefore they need to offer their programs for "free". So they bundle :|

Kind of reminds me of the original definition of "bundling":
http://en.wikipedia....ing_(tradition)

... nobody ended up satisfied then either.

Hurricane Electric, Inc.

Hurricane Electric a pipeline from China, where the source doesn't want that known. Though this apparently is from a Kondra Systems in California, US. Totally bogus key word hilighter on web pages that display unwanted rollover ads.

Tray icon CP called tbhSystray.exe, but the internal name is LeoSystray.exe, © eBay.

Thanks to Jintan for the report!

1) Edited Sun JAVA to read Sun JAVA (JRE) - b/c if you install the JDK, OpenOffice is not included. Applies to both 32bit and 64bit JDKs.

2) As with many of these installers, you can uncheck the options from default - with Skype, if you click the options button to the left after the Skype setup wizard starts, you can uncheck IE and Fx integration. If you use Skype, I recommend this anyway, as both are very very buggy, often times causing the respective browser to become unresponsive or crash.

Thanks for the above, John.

I updated the list by adding Avast. The installer is now bundled with add-on: Google Chrome but not pre-selected.

What build you get because the avast! 4 Home/Pro v4.8.1367 and avast! 4 Home/Pro v4.8.1368 and I did not see that.

Darn why are they all selling out?

Thanks for this info siljaline.....I did not kmow this.... :woot:

As I occasionally use it, I just tried to log on. "NoScript" is now blocking pbsrc.com which is something new......pbsrc.com has not been involved, till recently. I had to "temporarily allow" pbsrc.com to make photobucket usable.

Just googled "pbsrc"........Performance Based Studies Research Group.......whatever that means..... .....Project managament group affiliated with Arizona State Univ. (??????)

http://whois.domaintools.com/pbsrg.com

I don't know if this is "safe", but if it is not....I don't know what else to use!
I only use photobucket to generate links for posting in forums, like this one....With all these additions, life seems to be getting harder for the security concious computer user....
