No problem so far, G. It's working on my Vista SP2 and Win7 (all 32-bit)
Rui tested it also in 64-bit editions of Windows.

Give it a try :)

Thanks for the first feedback on this, G. May I ask the version of .NET Framework in your system? That is Vista 64-bit or 32-bit? Thanks!

BTW, can you see the EULA in "about" of the updater software? or it's blank for you?

Thanks for the screenshots and system info, G! No, you don't need to download other stuff. The zip file contains the files already. You only need to unzip it somewhere (in desktop) but do not run the blocklistupdater.exe from compressed file.

I just tried it in XP Pro SP3 also and I get the EULA prompt and EULA box but I passed this thread to Rui so he can take a look :)

@hayc59

I believe you didn't extract everything from the zip file. The updater reads the license from doc\license.rtf. I did it this way, because it's easier to update the license when needed, but I can include the license in the exe.

The dll is required. It allows the updater to extract the blocklist from zip files.

Maybe we should look at making that a self extracting zip.

That's probably a good idea, Peter. I'll see what I can cook up.

I think 7-Zip can do that if you don't want to handroll your own installer.

Good one gang... Works great! Thanks!

Couple of points:

The contents extract to the folder the archive resides in. Not to their own folder. Folder needs to be in the archive, or create one first.

The proxomitron blocks the update check (java?). The workaround is to include the url of the download location into Prox's bypass list.
It could affect other users with filtering, so an addition to the docs might be in order, or give the option to choose the connection method.

7-zip will self extract, but I think Winrar has better options.

I'm probably going to create an installer that also allows to just extract the files, in case the user doesn't want to install.
