The Canon PIXMA TS305 is a printer that is both light and compact, with a wide and squat profile. It only weighs 2.9 kilograms and has dimensions of 430 by 282 by 143 millimeters. The printer does not take up the least amount of space, but it is light enough to be moved around without much effort.
When the Canon PIXMA TS305 is not being used, the paper feed and the out-tray can both be folded out of the way, allowing for everything to be stored out of the way. On the left-hand side, there is a convenient recessed unit that houses all of the buttons together with status lights. It is a pity that the top panel slopes downwards because if it didn’t, this could have served a dual purpose as a convenient, albeit unconventional, chess board.
The Canon PIXMA TS305 is a printer that has a speed that is acceptable. It will spit out a single page of text in approximately nine seconds, while documents containing five pages will take approximately forty seconds (7.5ppm). The processing time increases with the size of the document; a 20-pager took approximately 2 minutes and 35 seconds (7.7ppm).
It took slightly less than a minute to print a monochrome JPEG that was 1.9 megabytes. This is a good alternative to the more expensive Epson ET-M112 monochrome printer, which is more than twice as expensive as this.

The quality of the printouts is generally satisfactory. Text is, on the whole, neat and easy to read; however, there was some bleeding with heavier fonts like Impact, and even text in plain old Arial looked clumped and indistinct in certain spots. Nevertheless, the text is generally clean and clear. If, on the other hand, you have the kind of instructor who requires that everything be printed in Times New Roman, you shouldn’t have too much trouble with this section.
